Suez Canal Bank Participated in Carerha’s IMPACT HER Event Celebrating Women’s Month Reinforcing the Efforts to Advance Women’s Economic Empowerment, Financial Inclusion, and Entrepreneurship
Suez Canal Bank participated in Carerha’s Women’s Month 2026 celebration, one of the leading events dedicated to women’s empowerment across the Middle East and Africa, as part of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to support women’s economic empowerment and promote financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.
Held under the theme “IMPACT HER”, the event aimed to enhance leadership skills and support women’s career development paths. It brought together a large audience of young professionals and graduates, alongside representatives from leading institutions across various sectors, as well as prominent leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs. The event featured panel discussions, workshops, professional development activities, and product exhibitions designed to encourage and support entrepreneurs.
Suez Canal Bank’s participation included a panel discussion featuring Nour Elzeny, Head of Financial Inclusion, Corporate Communications, and CSR, who highlighted the Bank’s vision for supporting women’s economic empowerment, not only through awareness initiatives, but also by providing practical tools that help women achieve financial independence.
Elzeny explained that Suez Canal Bank adopts an integrated approach that begins with raising awareness within the workplace through a variety of initiatives, events, and exhibitions targeting employees and their families. During Women’s Month, for example, the Corporate Communications department organized three weekly exhibitions featuring products made by women, helping them market their products and expand their business opportunities. The Bank also celebrated its female employees by organizing recreational activities and distributing gifts sourced from an Egyptian company led by young women entrepreneurs.
The Bank’s role also extends to the wider community through its contribution to initiatives focused on creating income-generating opportunities for underprivileged groups. These efforts include supporting indebted women through debt-relief initiatives and enabling them to establish small businesses that provide sustainable sources of income. The Bank also supports productive women and women entrepreneurs by contributing to the funding of production tools that enable them to launch their own businesses and produce handicrafts suitable for local and export markets. In addition, Suez Canal Bank helps create marketing opportunities for products made by women by purchasing them and incorporating them into corporate gifts presented to employees and clients. The Bank also contributes to creating employment opportunities for youth in orphanages by providing production tools for motorcycle-related projects.
Elzeny added that the Bank is keen to offering simple and accessible banking solutions, such as the financial inclusion account “Bedaya”, which can be opened using only a national ID card, with no fees or minimum balance requirements, while also allowing customers to benefit from a free Meeza card. In addition, the Bank provides digital services that enable individuals to track their expenses and better manage their income.
She further emphasized that technology has become an essential enabler for helping individuals monitor spending patterns, manage savings, and plan more effectively, whether through saving or investing in savings products, thereby strengthening their ability to achieve financial independence.
Elzeny also stressed that empowerment goes beyond providing resources; it extends to building individuals’ ability to sustain growth and progress through a better understanding of income management and financial prioritization.
At the conclusion of the event, Nour Elzeny was recognized among a group of inspiring female role models in appreciation of her impactful contributions to women’s empowerment and her role in creating positive social impact.
Suez Canal Bank’s Financial Inclusion team also participated in the summit, engaging directly with women and young attendees to raise financial awareness and promote the principles of financial inclusion.
The team conducted awareness sessions and provided simplified explanations of basic banking services, sound financial planning practices, and account opening procedures using only a national ID card. Participants were also introduced to the features and benefits of the “Bedaya” account, including ease of use, no fees, and no minimum balance requirements. These efforts contribute to integrating new segments into the formal financial system and enhancing their economic empowerment.
