  • 1978

    Suez Canal Bank was established (under investment law 43 for 1974) with an authorized capital of EGP 10 million and a paid-up capital of EGP 2.5 million. Head office in Isma'ilia.

  • 1980

    Suez Canal Bank was ranked as Egypt's number 1 private bank, came fifth among commercial banks and was among the top 100 banks operating in the Arab region.

  • 1982

    Suez Canal Bank shares were listed on Cairo and Alexandria's Stock Exchange.

  • 1983

    Opened an Islamic banking branch in Dukki, Giza, to provide Shari'ah-compliant services and products to serve a large segment of its customers.

  • 1998

    Authorized capital rose to EGP 500 million and the paid-up capital was increased to EGP 100 million.
  • 2001

    Received ratings from international agencies Fitch Rating and Thomson Financial Bank Watch.

  • 2002

    Suez Canal Bank became one of the first banks to obtain the Central Bank of Egypt's approval to be a primary dealer in treasury bills, government bonds, and custodians.

    - The Bank opened a representative office in Libya.

  • 2003

    Established a centralized operations center.

  • 2007

    Authorized capital jumped to EGP 2 billion, while the paid-up capital was up to EGP 1 billion.

  • 2009

  • 2011

    Relocated Sphynx branch to Syria Street in Muhandisin.

  • 2014

    - Created a new corporate identity.

    - Opened a new branch in Al-'Ain Al-Sukhna, Suez.

  • 2014

    Opened a new branch in Shubra, which brought Suez Canal branches to 31, besides four branches under-construction.

  • 2015

    Opened a new branch in Manyal, bringing the branch count to 32. Two other branches were under-construction.

  • 2016

    Opened two new branches in Tagamu' and Bur-Tawfiq, totaling 34 branches.

  • 2017

    Suez Canal Bank's branch count reached 36 with two more openings in the economic district in Al-'Ain Al-Sukhna and Al-Ahrar, Muhandisin.

  • 2018

    Launched Retail and SMEs as well as launching the new branches model.

  • 2019

    Reached 47 branches connecting main cities, Started Digital strategy where Suez Canal Bank launched its first Mobile wallet application (SCB E-Wallet) and first Smart Branch in City Stars Mall.

  • 2020

    In light of Corona pandemic, Suez Canal Bank achieved the highest profit record in its history.

    As a part of Branches development plan of digital transformation, Development of two branches Al Oruba and Garden City, Containing self-service area and video call area with a call center employee

  • 2021

    For the bank’s continuous successes in digital Transformation, Two robots accompanied in the opening of the latest branches held in Sheikh Zayed City at Arkan plaza Mall, In addition to opening of Smash Club Branch bringing the number of Suez Canal Bank branches to 49.
