Suez Canal Bank Sponsored the Second Edition of the Egypt International Electric Mobility Summit 2025
Suez Canal Bank participated as an official sponsor of the second edition of the Egypt International Electric Mobility Summit (EVs Electricity Egypt 2025), reflecting the Bank’s keenness to advancing sustainability practices and supporting the transition toward alternative and clean transportation solutions.
In this context, the Bank hosted a dedicated booth featuring a modern design and staffed by customer service representatives to promote its diverse range of products and services. The BDS (NilePreneurs) team also participated, providing technical and advisory support as well as non-financial services to entrepreneurs and business owners, helping them expand their operations. In addition, representatives from the Financial Inclusion Department were present to encourage visitors and exhibitors to open bank accounts and to deliver awareness sessions aimed at enhancing financial literacy and highlighting the role of digital technology. Commemorative giveaways were also distributed to strengthen engagement with visitors and project owners participating in the event.
It is worth noting that Suez Canal Bank has launched special financing offers for electric vehicles targeting individual customers, with competitive interest rates starting from 21.25%, supported by simplified requirements and flexible repayment plans. This initiative forms part of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to provide innovative financial solutions that encourage the transition toward renewable energy usage.
During his opening speech at the summit, Mohamed Amr, Head of Sustainability and Sustainable Finance department at Suez Canal Bank, stated that the Bank has been keen to participate in the exhibition since its launch in its inaugural edition last year, in support of efforts aimed at promoting sustainable transportation. He added that sustainability is no longer a luxury, and that, in line with its financing role, Suez Canal Bank has established several strategic partnerships, most notably its cooperation with the EBRD to expand green lending activities.
Amr further noted that the Bank continues to offer retail banking programs within the field of sustainable finance, highlighting that its efforts extend to providing dedicated financing solutions for energy efficiency and sustainable transportation, as well as measuring the financed emissions of its credit portfolio. In this regard, Suez Canal Bank has obtained five international “EDGE Advanced” certifications for the green building accreditation of its branches.
Eng. Hany Fawzy, Head of Engineering and Administration departments at Suez Canal Bank, also participated in the first panel discussion held on the sidelines of the Egypt Electric Vehicles Summit under the title “Government and Private Sector Strategies for the Transition to Electric Vehicles.” During the session, he noted that the Bank has adopted an integrated strategic vision aligned with the Egyptian government’s sustainability agenda and its support for environmentally friendly solutions, particularly electric vehicles, as one of the key pillars of the future of smart mobility. He further explained that Suez Canal Bank has taken serious and practical steps in this direction, including contracting for the purchase of 40 electric vehicles, reflecting its genuine commitment to environmental responsibility.
Eng. Fawzy added that the Bank’s focus on electric vehicles is not limited to institutional use but also extends to supporting the state’s sustainability objectives through the adoption of smart solutions that reduce carbon emissions and contribute to improving energy efficiency. He noted that the Bank is currently establishing electric vehicle charging infrastructure across its branches to ensure the sustainable operation of electric vehicles and to reflect a forward-looking vision based on long-term planning.
Eng. Hany Fawzy further explained that the Bank is cooperating with specialized dealerships to provide electric vehicles that meet all operational requirements in terms of transportation, efficiency, and reliability, ensuring the highest standards of performance and quality. He emphasized that Suez Canal Bank’s efforts represent a practical model for supporting the green transition, contributing to sustainable development, and strengthening cooperation between the government and the private sector to build a cleaner and more efficient future for coming generations.
