Under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt’s Central CSR Unit.. Suez Canal Bank inaugurates the inpatient ward of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Misr Al Qadima Mabara Hospital after its renovation and development support

As part of its keenness to support the healthcare sector and reinforcing its role in corporate social responsibility, Suez Canal Bank inaugurated the inpatient ward of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Misr Al Qadima Mabara Hospital following the completion of renovation and equipping works carried out under the patronage of the Central Bank of Egypt’s Central CSR Unit.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Akef El Maghraby, CEO and Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank; Dr. Ghada Tawfik, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt for Corporate Social Responsibility; and Nour Elzeny, Head of Financial Inclusion, Corporate Communications, and CSR at Suez Canal Bank.

Representing the hospital were Dr. Khaled Lasheen, General Manager of Misr Al Qadima Mabara Hospital; Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Shakweer, Chairman of the Therapeutic Institution; Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Sabry, Cardiology Consultant and Head of the Cardiology Department; and Dr. Ahmed Mohsen El Sawah, Cardiology Consultant and Head of the Catheterization Unit.

The development works included upgrading the inpatient floor dedicated to heart patients and equipping it with approximately 21 beds to accommodate patients before and after cardiac catheterization procedures, with a capacity to serve up to 300 patients per month.

The project also included the provision of advanced ECG machines, in addition to infrastructure upgrades covering painting works, suspended ceilings, electrical systems, lighting, and air conditioning.

This collaboration comes within the framework of Suez Canal Bank’s CSR strategy, which focuses on supporting healthcare institutions and enhancing medical infrastructure to help improve the quality of treatment services and strengthen the efficiency of the healthcare system.

In this context, Akef El Maghraby stated: “Suez Canal Bank places strong emphasis on supporting the healthcare sector as one of the key pillars for achieving sustainable development. Accordingly, we are keen on implementing impactful community initiatives in the health sector.”

El Maghraby added that this collaboration reflects a successful model of partnership between the banking sector and healthcare institutions. He noted that supporting the development of the Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Misr Al Qadima Mabara Hospital aligns with the Bank’s direction toward contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services and providing an advanced treatment environment for the hospital’s patients.

Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Shakweer stated that this collaboration with Suez Canal Bank contributes to supporting and developing healthcare services provided to citizens.

He added that the renovation works represent a valuable addition to the hospital’s medical capabilities and directly contribute to improving the level of care provided to heart patients, while also helping medical teams perform their work more efficiently to deliver integrated healthcare services.
