Suez Canal Bank organized an exhibition to support women producers in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent as part of a series of weekly exhibitions celebrating Women’s Month

As part of efforts to support women’s economic empowerment and strengthen their role in community development, and as part of the Central Bank of Egypt’s initiative “Al Tamkeen Khatwa”, Suez Canal Bank organized an exhibition to support women producers in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent at its headquarters. The exhibition is part of a series of weekly exhibitions that the Bank organizes to support women artisans and help them market their products, in celebration of March as Women’s Month.

The exhibition reflects Suez Canal Bank’s keenness to strengthening its role in corporate social responsibility by supporting small and micro businesses and empowering women economically through providing marketing platforms that allow them to showcase their products and reach a wider range of customers.

The exhibition included the participation of several women producers who presented a variety of handicrafts and traditional products that reflect the richness of authentic Egyptian crafts, including embroidery, etamine, accessories, handmade bags, in addition to distinctive Sinai products that represent the richness of Egyptian heritage and traditional crafts.

The exhibition also included an interactive experience, where some exhibitors produced handmade products inside the Bank using sewing machines. This allowed employees to see the production process closely and support the exhibitors by purchasing their products.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Nour El Zeny, Head of Financial Inclusion, Corporate Communication and CSR at Suez Canal Bank, and Dina Abu Zahra, Head of Human Resources at the Bank, reflecting the Bank’s continued support for women empowerment initiatives and strengthening their economic role in society.

To encourage community participation within the workplace and motivate employees to support the women exhibitors, the CSR Department organized a raffle draw for several prizes among employees who purchased products during the exhibition. The winners were announced in a positive atmosphere in appreciation of their participation in the initiative and their support for local products.

In this context, Nour Elzeny said that Suez Canal Bank is keen to launch initiatives that support women’s economic empowerment and create wider opportunities for women producers to market their work as part of the Central Bank of Egypt’s initiative “Empowerment Step”, noting that these exhibitions provide a platform for women artisans to showcase their products.

Elzeny added: “We are keen to organize these exhibitions inside the Bank’s premises to encourage employees to participate in community initiatives and support them, which helps strengthen the culture of community engagement, in addition to providing products that meet their needs for different occasions at reasonable prices.”

For her part, Dina Abu Zahra confirmed that these exhibitions and activities inside the Bank reflect the keenness to enhancing the employee experience and providing opportunities for interaction with employees on different occasions, which helps create a positive work environment.

In this regard, Dr. Amal Imam, Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, said that cooperation with Suez Canal Bank in organizing this exhibition comes as part of the association’s efforts to support women producers and empower them economically. She also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the banking sector and civil society organizations to support handicrafts and small businesses and achieve sustainable development impact.
